2)

3) Early 1970s fashion. For women, the Hippie look of the 1960s carried over to the early '70s. Popular styles included bell bottom pants, frayed jeans, midi skirts, maxi dresses, Tie dye, peasant blouses, and ponchos. ... Men's early 1970s fashion was largely influenced by bright colours and textures.

Crime- crime rates increased in the United States, peaking from the 1970s to the early 1990s. Violent crime nearly quadrupled between 1960 and its peak in 1991, police were also discovered as being 'dirty' which meant they would take personal gain over their jobs.

technology- A decade of big hair, tiny clothes and impressive technology. The 1970s were a decade of impressive technological invention and development with the first microprocessors, calculators and video games strutting onto the scene oozing cool.

gender and race- back in the 70s we can see that white males were still known as the predominant male, we can see this in the Sweeney as all the main characters are white males with the females most of the time being bystanders, this therefore shows how black people and females were mistreated in the 70s

4)
In the Sweeney we see that white males are all the main characters where as in Luther we can see some women in high roles and also the leader role of Luther is played by a black man.
In the Sweeney we can stereotype the police as being hard hitting rule bending police who will get anything done to get their man, but in Luther the police appear to be more rule breaking which could form a stereotype of police brutality
We can also see in the Sweeney that the crimes committed aren't really as gory or as serious as the crimes committed in Luther the crimes seem to be very gory and very scary but the crimes in the crimes in The Sweeney seem to be a lot more toned down which shows a change in the audience expectations.
